Our Story
Dear friends,
Welcome, and thank you for taking the time to visit der Poet's website.
This work began from something personal—a growing, living relationship with God. Out of moments of worship, prayer, questions, and quiet reflection, there arose a desire to write and to share in ways that would glorify Him and strengthen others in their walk of faith. It has been more than 20 years since I wrote my first gospel song with a pre-loved guitar gifted to me. At its heart, this organization expresses that calling in two ways:
We write and publish songs of worship and thanksgiving, offerings shaped by Scripture and carried by a small circle united in honoring God and uplifting others, as well as blog articles, reflections, and perspectives drawn from personal journeys with God, with the aim of encouraging and reminding fellow believers of His faithfulness, grace, and truth in everyday life.
Alongside this, we operate a social business that rehomes donated pre-loved musical instruments at affordable prices and helps raise funds in support of Christian charitable efforts that provide practical care for orphans, abandoned children and impoverished families in less-developed countries. In a way, songs that are written in dedication to persons who have made donations, offered sponsorships, prayed and/or helped in one way or the other in support of missional work committed to the daily care of orphans and families from impoverished background are songs that not only express our gratitude to God, but also reflect His goodness and love toward these beneficiaries. We pray, one day, we may hear Christ's amazing story by them.
When der Poet Ltd was incorporated in 2023, we had the intention to start a social business, not just so that we can sustain our operating costs and fulfill the purpose of serving one another and edify the body of Christ, one family of God, but also to pledge a substantial percentage of our net profits toward the support of Singapore-based Christian charitable organizations operating in less-developed countries with: (i) a high standard of accountability in governance; (ii) a ground-based approach that assumes direct ownership in the execution of their charitable programs and activities; and (iii) a stewardship approach that invests in the growth, development and mobilization of individuals under their care. In this regard, I am pleased to announce—as of 2027, der Poet's social enterprise activities will enable us to play a small part in supporting the charitable work of Operation Hope Foundation.
In a deeply personal way, this ministry has also been shaped through loss and renewal. Following a recent bout of sinus infection with its complications and prolonged treatment, my sense of balance was compromised. I also lost hearing in both ears and now rely on a cochlear implant in one ear and wear a hearing aid in the other. What once felt like silence became, over time, a place where Jesus, my Lord and Saviour, met me with a deeper revelation of His presence. That sense of loss propelled a gain; a sweeter communion with Christ. In this season, I have come to know more profoundly that we are indeed fearfully and wonderfully made. Even in limitation, God's design is not diminished. My appreciation for music has remained and even deepened—and so has the calling to write. If anything, it became more meaningful. Worship is no longer defined by what I can or cannot hear, but by the posture of the heart before the Lord my God whom I love and serve.
I am thankful for the friends who came alongside me during this season—the family of God whose unwavering presence, heartfelt prayers, steadfast support, and visits during my hospital stay played a vital role in my journey of recovery and faith, a witnessing to the truth that by His grace, wholeness is found together in Christ. It is my sincere hope that those who live with hearing loss, or any form of disability or limitation, will also find encouragement to embrace God’s grace fully in that place and draw on the Father's perfect love and delight in you.
Whether you are here to listen, read, support, or simply explore, we pray that you will be encouraged and strengthened in your own journey of faith, hope, and love.
Thank you for being part of this story.
With gratitude and faith,
Dr. Patricia Wong
Founder & Chairperson, der Poet Ltd
With a sincere love for her students, Patricia dedicated her 30-year vocation in the field of education to developing people in their learning and vocational endeavors and equipping individuals with the tools and guidance to flourish as whole persons. During her stint in higher education, Patricia wrote extensively, including books and research journal papers, training manuals and learning guides, newsletters and articles. Today, Patricia continues to write articles on a myraid of topics from a Christian perspective. Her work as an education consultant overseas and background serving in advisory and leadership roles in other non-profit work has given her a global perspective on cross-cultural partnerships and collaboration to advancing educational equity for persons from underprivileged backgrounds. Patricia credits her time that span 15 years of part-time diploma studies at bible and theological schools and modular studies at a music school as having a significant influence in shaping her ministry path and deepening her passion for the clarity of the word of Christ, expository and bible study, designing programs that integrate spiritual and practical growth, and approaching governance with integrity and discernment. In her quiet moments, Patricia enjoys cooking and delighting in fellowship around the table, reading the scriptures, and finding refreshment in the beauty of nature, cherishing the gift of our Father’s world. She envisions a global community where orphans, abandoned children, poor widows, and vulnerable families are truly seen and holistically supported.

Our Mission and Vision
A Christian mission-driven, creator-first, non-extractive online publishing hub of original songs, texts and creative content designed to ensure every contributor shares directly in the value we help create, where persons, including those with disabilities or limitation, are empowered by ways of His grace to function fully, thrive collectively, and live confidently in our identity as God's beloved children.
Reflect God's love through the vocation of blessing in the worship of God.

"Poet"
UK /ˈpəʊ.ɪt
US /ˈpoʊ.ət/
der Poet has its name from a simple belief: God made each of us unique to Him, different in a way no two snowflakes have exactly the same pattern; each a different expression of His poetry, likens to a bespoke handiwork called His masterpiece; each is redeemed and beloved by Him for His glory; and each is treasured and purposed for Him for His joy.
Our songs are mostly poetic in the literary form with characteristics of Hebrew poetry such as parallelism, simile, and metaphors. Our lyrics and texts express timeless truths of our faith in the Son of God and express our worship and thanksgiving to God with impassioned affections inspired by the Word of God.
