The Triune God, the Gift of Salvation, and the Eminent Return of Christ

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—the Creator of all things and the source of truth, beauty, love, and life. We believe that God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, into the world to reconcile humanity to Himself, and that forgiveness of sins is available through Christ's sacrifice, which restores the relationship between humanity and God (2 Cor. 5:14-21). Jesus is fully God and fully man, the perfect revelation of the Father's character and the living embodiment of grace, truth, compassion, and sacrificial love. He died for our sins, was buried, rose again in victory, and is now seated at the right hand of the Father, as Priest forever after the order of Melchizedek, as our Lord and Savior, as our Soon Returning King (Ps. 110:4; Zech. 6:13; Heb. 4:14; 6:20; 7:17; 8:1). We believe that all who believe in the name of the Son of God and call upon Him shall be saved (Isa. 45:22; 55:6,7; Jn. 3:16; 1 Jn. 5:13; Acts 4:12; 10:43; 16:31; Rom. 1:16; 5:8; 10:13; Eph. 2:8). We believe in the Holy Spirit, who dwells within believers to guide, renew, comfort, help, and empower us for holy living, faithful service, creativity, and witness, transforming us into the likeness of Christ (Rom. 6:4-5; 8:29; Gla. 2:20; Heb. 12:1-2; 2 Cor. 3:18; 10:5; Col. 3:1-3; 1 Jn. 2:15-17), and He will teach us all things and guide us into all truth as Jesus had promised, including applying Scripture and discerning truth in our daily life (Jn 14:23-26; 15:26; 16:13; Heb. 12:1,2; Col. 3:1-3; Gal. 4:6; Rom. 8:26; 1 Jn. 2:27; 1 Cor. 2:10-13), as well as inviting us into God's will concerning Jesus' mission on earth and God's plan for the nations and for salvation, participating in the reconciliation of all people to God (Gen. 12:2; 1 Tim. 2:5; Jn. 14:26, 16:13; Rom. 12:2; 2 Cor. 4:13-18; 5:14-21; Heb. 12:28; 1 Pet. 2:9) as we trust that God will fulfill his promises, sharing in the divine nature; as we place our hope in the glorious return of Christ, we also wait for the life of the world to come (Phil. 3:20; Heb. 11:16; 1 Jn. 2:15-17; 1 Cor. 15:49-58; Rom. 1:16-17; 8:18-25; 2 Pet. 1:4; Rev. 21:1-5).

The Authority of Scripture, the Worth of Humanity, and the People of God Manifesting God's Eternal Purpose on Earth

We affirm the authority of Scripture as God's inspired Word. We believe that the Holy Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, reveal God's eternal purpose to redeem creation through Christ. God's eternal plan encompasses the forgiveness of sins through the blood of Jesus and the ultimate reconciliation of all people to God (Eph. 1:10). We believe the Old Testament bears witness to the God who created the world before time and sovereignly established His plan for the nations, while the New Testament proclaims the divinity of Jesus Christ, the personhood of the Holy Spirit, and the mystery of the Church as the spiritual body of Christ, believers everywhere united as one people through the gospel, as one family of God (Rom. 9–12). We are committed to upholding the Christian faith as expressed in the Apostles' and Nicene Creeds. We believe that the victory of our new life as new creation on earth is found in the risen Christ who is at the Father's right hand and we are empowered to live a life unto God that honors Him (Heb. 12:2; Col. 3:1-2; Eph. 2:6,10; Gal. 2:20; Rom. 6:4-5; 1 Cor. 15:20-22; 2 Cor. 5:17; 1 Pet. 2:9; James 1:27; 2:5). We believe that all human beings are created in the image and likeness of God and, therefore, in God's eyes, possess inherent dignity, worth, and purpose. We also believe that building truly compassionate and egalitarian societies in the world that belongs to God begins with recognizing that the poor and vulnerable in our day and age deserve to be treated with humane consideration and be accorded with interventions and opportunities to rise above systemic structures of poverty (Matt. 25:40; James 1:27; Ps. 68:5; 82:3-4; Isa. 1:17; Job 29:12-13; Prov. 14:31; 19:17; 29:7; 31:8-9). We believe it is the will of God that through Jesus Christ whom God has sent into the world, every person is invited into a life of faith, hope, love, and restored relationship with God (Jn. 3:16; 17:3; Eph. 2:10; 3:9-11; Isa. 29:19).

Marriage, Singleness, and Faithfulness in Service

We believe that God is the Creator and Author of human relationships and that His Word alone defines the sacred purposes of marriage and singleness. Marriage is a holy covenant ordained by God between one man and one woman, established for companionship, faithfulness, mutual service, the nurturing of family, and as a reflection of the covenant relationship between Christ and His Church (Gen. 2:24; Matt. 19:4–6; Eph. 5:31–32). We affirm that marriage is to be honored by all, kept in purity, fidelity, and lifelong commitment, and that sexual intimacy is a gift from God to be expressed only within the covenant of marriage (Heb. 13:4; 1 Cor. 6:18–20). We also affirm the dignity, calling, and spiritual fullness of singlehood that singleness is also a gracious gift from God, enabling wholehearted devotion to the Lord Jesus and fruitful service in His Kingdom (1 Cor. 7:7–8, 32–35; Matt. 19:12). We believe both marriage and singleness are sacred callings through which believers glorify God and serve others in holiness and truth according to His purpose and grace, and we commit ourselves to uphold biblical truth with holiness and purity, humility and compassion, love and faithfulness, encouraging all persons—married or single—to walk in obedience to Christ and to find their fulfillment in Him alone (2 Cor. 10:5).
 

The First Principle of Love 

 

We believe that God is love, that God loved us before we could love Him, and that He demonstrated this love by giving His Beloved Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross for the redemption of all who believe. We believe that the cross is the ultimate expression of God’s first and undeserved love— a love freely given before it was freely received. Because God first loved us, we are called to respond by reflecting and extending that same love to others. Through our words, our creativity, and our daily endeavors, we seek to intentionally express God's love by serving others with grace, excellence, compassion, and truth. We believe our work can become a channel through which God's love is made visible—bringing encouragement, hope, healing, and meaningful connection to people everywhere. Across every expression of our work entrusted to us, our desire is to reflect the love that first reached us, so that others may encounter the heart of God through the work of our hands.

 

Creative Stewardship in Faithfulness to the Glory of God

We believe that work is both a gift and calling from God, and that it is His will for us to enjoy the fruit of our labor with gratitude, faithfulness, and fulfillment, both tangible and intangible (Ps. 128:2; Eccl. 3:13; 5:19; Prov. 14:23; Zech. 4:10; Phil. 4:19; 2 Cor. 9:8). We affirm creative expression as a gift that can reflect truth and inspire worship, and make Christ known (Matt. 5:14–16). As we tell of Christ's amazing story through the work of writing and publishing of gospel music, Christian texts, and other creative works, we seek to share content that is honest, edifying, and shaped by humility, grace, and respect, blending contemporary forms of artistic, visual, audio, and technological expression with theological depth and faithfulness. While we welcome a diversity of voices, perspectives, and creative styles, we believe that all contributions should be offered in good faith and in a spirit of collaborative worship that upholds our shared purpose and values as children of God. We acknowledge, as with all Christian contexts of staying in the service of God, that our work, though offered faithfully to God, is expressed through human limitations and may at times be imperfect, and we believe that the Spirit of God continues to faithfully work in and through His willing vessels to encourage, edify, and draw people toward Himself and make a difference to the world in need. We believe our community should be as diverse, inclusive and accessible as it can be. Our mission supports a fostering of fellowship that uplifts, encourages, and points toward what is good, true, praiseworthy, and life-giving, and strengthens, inspires, and directs focus toward God who is good (Phil. 2:5; 4:8).
